Our largest Southern Magnolia tree is in bloom! These amazing white flowers are all over the tree. There are also many buds soon to bloom. While this tree is native to the southeast (Virginia to Florida), it does well here in Maryland too. Reaching 90 feet in height, it is a large, striking evergreen tree, with large dark-green leaves. Its fragrant white flowers can be up to 12 inches in diameter. The timber is hard and heavy, and has been used commercially to make furniture, pallets, and veneer.
This tree is part of our Tree Subscription Program. Thanks to John and Katie Dentler for sponsoring this beautiful tree.
